Three generations of one family, one line of work, and the same green and cream on every hull.
A design that became the standard
L&M Botruc Rental was founded in 1948 by the late Minor Cheramie to provide marine services to the oil and gas industry along the Gulf Coast. Eight years later the first Botruc launched.
That vessel put the wheelhouse forward and the cargo deck aft — a layout the industry had not settled on yet, and one that is now the shape of every supply boat working the shelf. L&M was among the first to build it.
The idea behind it has not changed since. Design and build the vessel around the work: below-deck capacity for fuel, water, liquid mud and dry bulk; clear deck above for whatever the job puts there; dynamic positioning to hold station alongside a platform. Every hull since has been built and maintained for one purpose — getting cargo, fluids and equipment to the field and back, on schedule.
The people stay
Offshore work has a reputation for turnover. Ours does not. Many of our mariners and shoreside staff have been with L&M for twenty years, some thirty, a few more than forty. The captain on your job has almost certainly run it before.

Sole ownership
L&M is solely owned. Decisions about a vessel, a job or a crew get made by the people whose name is on the boat, usually the same day you ask.
Environmental care
The goal on every job is zero environmental impact, on land and at sea. It is written into the Safety Management System and audited like everything else.
Our Commitment
Safety Is Always on Board
Our commitment to the safety of our workforce, to the protection of our clients’ assets, and to the preservation of the environment is not negotiable against a schedule.
Every task runs through our own Safety Management System: a formal training program, frequent safety audits, a pre-job safety meeting before work begins, and stop-work authority in the hands of every single crew member — not just the master. Anyone aboard can halt a job they believe is unsafe, and no one is second-guessed for using it.
L&M is a member of the Offshore Marine Services Association and has held a seat on its board since the association was founded.
The green and cream of the L&M Botruc Rental insignia has been on the water off south Louisiana for more than seventy-five years. We intend to keep it recognizable.
