License requirements are firm — they are USCG requirements, not ours.
Captain
USCG Master’s license — 200, 300, 500 or 1600 ton
Command of the vessel and everyone aboard it. Navigation, cargo operations, DP work alongside the platform, and the safety of the crew — with the authority to stop any job that does not look right.
Mate
USCG Mate’s license
Watchstanding under the captain, cargo and deck operations, and vessel documentation. The route to a captain’s chair at L&M.
Chief Engineer
USCG Unlimited Engineer’s license — over 4,000 HP
Responsible for main propulsion, generators, pumps and deck machinery. Works with our port engineering staff on preventive maintenance so the vessel makes its dates and its inspections.
Engineer
USCG DDE — over 4,000 HP
Engine room watches, routine maintenance and repairs under the chief engineer.
